Summer 2026 Upper Pitt River Fishing Report

Summer Fishing Has Arrived at the Pitt River Lodge

Summer’s in full swing, and the rivers’ anadromous Char are home! Right now, our guides know special spots that hold high concentrations of fish. In these spots, we’ve had some action this past week with surface presentation.

Pitt River Lodge Summer Fishing Report

Due to the high concentrations of these fish sitting in particular areas, they tend to compete against each other for those surface opportunities. These willing Char, hurl themselves out of the river for food! These aggressive takes are hard to shake from memory banks.

Along with good fishing right now, the river valley presents a plethora of berries around. The vegetation growing throughout the valley is at its peak. Currently, we have lots of thimbleberries, huckleberries and wild strawberries around! There’s been lots of bear activity from these omnivores recently gorging themselves on the salad bar!

Current midriver water temperature is 54°F. The river is in full glacial spirit, being turquoise blue with 2′ – 4′ of visibility depending on the heat throughout the day.
