Autumn 2026 Upper Pitt River Fishing Report

Fall Fishing Has Arrived at the Pitt River Lodge

Autumn’s here, and so are the fish! Water temperature is 10°C, with air temperatures ranging from 6°C to 18°C. The river has just gone through its peak spawning period for sockeye salmon. Leaving excess nutrients (Flesh & Eggs) abundant within the river.

Pitt River Lodge Fall Fishing Report

Those excess nutrients provide the food staple for our transient trout in the watershed, which capitalize on the abundance. We’ve had excellent success rates this week in finding Cutthroat, Cutbow, Rainbow & Bulltrout! Along with the flesh and eggs, there’s always a high abundance of sculpins, another trout staple. The most productive method of fishing: single-hand & spey, stripping/swinging streamers.
