What an awesome trip! It wasn’t more than 5 minutes after Danny dropped us off that Hugh and I were talking about our next trip to Pitt River Lodge. It feels like home at your facility and the evening meal felt like dinner with family. Our guide Richard was fantastic. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and quite the good photographer.

have been fly fishing for about 14 years and had my best guided trip here in early June! Danny, the owner, built both of the lodges and two cabins himself. One is right on the Pitt River and the other is on a mountain overlooking the valley with a helipad for those that wish to spoil themselves. Danny was very nice and welcoming. He made us feel at home for the 4 days we stayed in the river cabin.
Our guide was Jordan and we really enjoyed fishing with him for 3 days. He knows the river well and got us into the best pockets of fish while rafting down the river. On our first day, we caught around 30 bull trout between myself and my dad. I caught a 10-11 lb and 30-inch bull trout on day one and Jordan said it was the biggest he has seen on the river. I was ecstatic. He was even nice enough to take us to BC's #1 rated hot spring that feeds into the Pitt River.
I highly recommend asking for Jordan and coming to the PRL in June when all the big bull trout come in from the ocean to eat the salmon fry in the river.
I think I will come up again next year in late summer to try my hand in salmon fishing. Best fly fishing experience of my life! Thanks, Danny and Jordan. Keep livin' the dream.

Just an hour's drive from our home in Vancouver, who knew there would be such a fabulous fishing resort?!
Danny and Lee have created a wonderful fishing experience! Everything was perfect! The lodge was beautiful, welcoming, immaculate, and oh so comfortable... There was a warm fireplace by the pool table by the bar. We also enjoyed the sitting area with guitars standing by where we could relax and share our fish stories. Then, of course, there was a dining area with two big beautiful tables where we feasted.
The hip waders, boots, and fishing gear was provided. Fit perfect and very comfortable.
Each morning we were met with a delicious hearty breakfast and lunches were packed. Each group set off with their guide... ours was the bigger of the groups so we were always the last ones out the door... Each guide usually took 2-3 fishermen. After a full day of breathtaking scenery, awesome fishing, rafting, wading, and trekking we arrived back at the lodge to savoury snacks and advised when supper would be ready.
You get to know the other visitors who are staying at the lodge as you share meals and fish stories with each other... That was also very nice.
The meals were awesome... like mom makes! Accompanied with a glass of tasty red wine. We were lucky that 4 of the guests were minors and 2 of the adults weren't drinking so we got their glasses of wine! ha ha ha!
Then we relaxed with those who weren't ready to crash for the night and share our tales of the excitement of the day.
The second day of fishing was much different as the water was a foot higher. They say it's always changing bringing in new fish!
The guides were great! Definitely needed them to tell us how and where to catch the famous bull trout. They were very patient teaching the newbies as well as showing the experienced fishermen the difference in fishing for bull trout from other fish.
The house staff were very friendly and efficient. Loving the fish stories, even though I'm sure they've heard them all before! But fishermen love to talk to whoever will listen!
We hope to return to do some fishing during the salmon season next time!
Thank you to all
